Hiking Hounds is designed to provide your dog with enrichment and fulfillment through biological fulfillment as we hike and enjoy the outdoors together. Dogs must be off-leash trained through a VK9 program or through Trainer Approval. Owners agree to provide proper preventatives for ticks and fleas given the area as well as agree to whatever adventures may bring home… sometimes that means a wet dog and mud! Loads of fun and a tired dog is guaranteed!

Stay & Train is a great option for clients traveling out of town. Traditional boarding in a daycare setting can be overwhelming for most dogs due to the loud noise and lack of one-on-one attention. This service is designed to give your dog a quiet, fulfilling experience while you are away. We can work on a variety of training areas while your dog stays: leash manners, basic obedience, recall, exposure to new places, sport foundations, and anything else you may need help with. This is a great option for established clients who may want to tune up some training issues without enrolling in a longterm program. Dogs are automatically added to the Hiking Hounds & Day Camp schedules if it falls during their stay.

The A+ Pup Program is designed for dogs 12+ months old and is the most comprehensive program offered at VK9. In this program, your dog will receive tailored training based on the areas you are looking to address. Common problem areas that tend to need attention for this program, which can include: reactivity, basic obedience, recall, off-leash skills, learning how to be calm, play skills, and everything in between. This program is designed to improve problem behaviors, build new skills, and let old bad habits fade away. Enrollment into Day Camp & Hiking Hounds is included during your dog’s stay.

The Proper Puppy Program is designed for puppies 4-12 months old. In this program, your puppy will come to VK9 Tuesdays-Thursdays for 4 weeks staying overnight for 3 days each week. Your puppy will join in the Camp Canine & Hiking Hounds programs in addition to receiving training, play, and socialization at home. Training focus will be on important foundations as well as confidence building and exposure to many different activities to help your puppy be well-rounded and well-adjusted.

The Sporty Pup Program is designed for dogs who will be trialing in sports in the future. Dogs will stay with me and work on a variety of foundations for certain sport(s) that the owner and dog are interested in. Sport options could include: disc, agility, scentwork, rally obedience, and conformation. This is a great option for owners that are traveling and would like some sport specific training to be worked on while their dog stays with VK9.

In-person private training lessons are ideal for common pet dog issues, such as leash manners, recall, dog reactivity, resource guarding, confidence building, puppy training, and house manners. Additional travel fees may apply.

$150 per lesson

Virtual lessons are designed for those who live outside of the area or those who would like to start without the commitment of in-person lessons. Almost any basic pet behavioral topics can be covered in virtual lessons.

Boarding with VK9 includes feeding, let outs, playtime, and an “at-home” atmosphere for your dog. The goal is stress-free, quiet, and a custom tailored approach to give your dog the best stay and give you peace of mind while you travel.
